Having trouble bleeding the cooling system

Hello guys have any of you guys had trouble bleeding the cooling system before? When i put a thermostat in it dosent want to open up and i know it works. My fans kick on and it blows hot but the car overheats. If i run without the t stat it runs fine.

Its works i have 5 that ive bought already and they all work tested them together they are all different temperatures. And they all opened according to their rating

could be a shot to hell water pump impeller. take the t stat out, put the housing back on with the hose on it, then take the upper hose off the rad, start the car, coolant should pump out the top hose. if it dont the water pump is dead, or somethings real clogged up.

Also got a new tempeture sensor but who know maybe it not accurate? I know the car runs a little hot with out the t stat but not to the point were is almost in red

Is it possible to install the T-stat upside down? Not sure if that would make any difference anyway.

You can also try bleeding the system with the bleeder screw on top of the t-stat housing.

Another option, drill a small hole or two in the thermostat to allow air to escape.

If the radiator is blowing hot and the fans are kicking in its not a thermostat or trapped air issue. Check the actual temperature with a infa red thermometer or something. My guess is everything is working fine but your coolant temp sensor is bad.

Water pump is new and engine just had a full rebuild. When the t stat is out and i put my spill free funnel on the radiator i can see the antifreeze go down as i rev the engine so i know there is circulation

You cant put it upside down. But drilling 2 small holes is not a bad idea

if you have a droid phone its 5$ for the app, and like 10 to $12 for the obd2 blue tooth adapter on ebay.

that temp sensor has two signals, one to the fans, one to the pcm. even new they can be bad. seen it happen a lot here. one guy it took 3 new ones till it worked right.

What year is the car? If it has the dual digital climate control for certain years, you can use that to see engine coolant temperature.

Ok yea i know what it is. Wont it be the same if i just hook up my scanner and go to my live data? But my question is that if the sensor is bad isn't it going to give me the wrong readings?
