As stated I'm Having problems with my VVME 9700-2 HID Conversion Kit. They don't like to both turn on and stay on. I either get one side or the other at startup unless i play with the light switch to get them both to ignite. I've talked to VVME and they believe its due to wiring.

Here is what i currently own.

Ok cool, I ordered the Relay and tried to install it. HA installed, tested the lights. To my dismay they won't turn on.

I can get pictures if needed but for the life of me i can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.

I hooked the relay ballast power to the ballast and disconnected the ones it was currently using from the stock wiring. Then i wired and grounded the relay. This relay kit has a plug like it hooks into the stock wiring to get a signal at the passengers side bulb vs the stock wiring plug going into the bulb like before. One thing that does baffle me is it had two little pigtale wires hanging out the back.

I've heard you have to plug these into the stock wiring or splice into it to get the signal to the ballasts. SO i touch the wires to the bulb conncector and it lights up but only one side.... WTF. So i'm thinking i need to hook the stock plug back in and disregard the blue plug from the relay and splice the pigtails into the wires that send the signal to my ballasts ???

Any insight would be great people. For i am a lost soul in the world of HIDS. Like i said i can get pictures if needed.

Okay this ones stupid, you need to connect at the end of the harness and on the drivers side the blue connector and only leave the two wires going to the halogen connected, the other two you can cut off.

Factory connector just sits there on this side.

The harness has a positive and negative, those should be obvious, then take the flat connecter from there and hook those into the power for the ballasts. Do this on both sides.

Also connect the HID bulbs on both sides, can only go on one way.

On the passengers side (this is where you hook the power end of your harness up if you're smart about it, no power on the drivers side) life gets difficult...

Hook the blue connector from the relay harness to the STOCK WIRING. That blue connector should have two wires coming off of it that arent connected to anything. Use butt connectors and crimp those to the wires coming off of the halogen bulb on your HID bulb.

Now you should have working HID low beams that are better than stock but still not proper and a rather useless halogen high beam.

And most HID's seem to be ****ty and not real 9007's.

It seems no one wants GP's to have good headlights...
 
Ok i think i'm following you. My Relay Harness only has one blue connector though and its not on DRIVERS side. Do i still hookup the the stock HID harness into the factory connector or not ? I understand that i hook up both flat connectors to the ballasts.

Yeah i'll work on that later. Wiring tends to confuse the heck outta me sometimes until i figure it out.

is there any way you can get a picture of the relay harness and the ballast/bulbs?

I am thinking you have to have the blue connectors connected on both passenger and driver sides because the 9007-2 kit uses that special wiring (the thing with the blue connector, the black box, and the 2 wires coming off the box) to switch between teh hid low beam and the halogen high beam. If only the blue connector was connected on the passenger side, then how is the driver side getting the signal to switch between beams?

this is why it would be nice to have a picture of the harness laid out because i don't know what both sides of it look like. My hids are bixenons so i dont have that extra blue connector wiring
 


something else...when you think you have things wired correctly and it is still not turning on, you can try reversing the polarity. this is easy, just reverse the plug going into the ballast. You just turn the plug 180* and plug back in.

Where you have the bare terminals that you plug into sockets, you can reverse those as well because you may have the power & ground wires mixed up going into the socket.

when i did my installation, i just left the car lights on, and just messed with the wires until i saw them kick on.
 
Ok I might have to uninstall everything and lay it all out. There is a blue plug on both sides on the "Original HID harness" Basically you plug it in on both sides to the stock wiring harness. Then you plug in the ballasts with the single plug and take the ballast plugs to the HID lights.

It's really simple, and yes i had to reverse the power plugs to get them to work originally on the ballasts. This whole issue began when i got fed up with trying to get both of my lights to ignite and stay on. I got fed up and bought a relay. This is when all the headaches began.
 
OK fellas do forgive my cars dirtiness as it has been raining the past week and i haven't had time to clean it up again. Plan to do that after i post... :D

In the pic, you need to get rid of the plug going into the ballast. On your relay harness, you connect the blue to the blue on the factory wiring. YOu take the plug with the orange weather seal and plug that into the ballast. I don't know what the other wires are for with the yellow tabs on them.

on the driver side, you would not connect the blue, but stil plug in the plug with the orange weather seal into the ballast.

what i am confused about is, what do your bulbs look like? By the way your kit looks and the diagram they have for the 9007-2 bulbs, it looks like you are missing something..... idk. I'd like to know what bulbs you have. If you really have the bulb with the extra halogen bulb, it looks like you are missing something. The thing you would be missing is the stuff in the diagram where the black wire from the hid bulb connects to.
