Having issues with my 05 GXP

I bought this car about a month ago with a few issues. I have taken care of most of them but 1 is stumping me. The car almost always has 1 or both cooling fans running while running and they stay on for a minute or so after its shut off. Also, the A/C light always comes on when I turn on the climate control even if it's already set to heat. I think both issues may be related? I installed a new GM temp switch in the front of the head, but it didn't help. The temp gauge reads normal and the car doesn't run hot at all. Also the coolant level is fine.
The other issue is the stupid HIDs not working. I've installed 2 different kits with a dedicated relay harness and they won't light up on the car. They will light up for a second and then just shut off. I reinstall the halogen bulbs and everything is fine.
 


if the fans are running after you turn the car off i think that means the pcm has been programmed to do so. the a/c light coming on all the time seems odd, as when the a/c is turned on both fans turn on. maybe the climate control unit is bad?
 
ya know what i i just remembered there is a fuse in my regal for the climate control, maybe pull that fuse and see if the fans stop acting up.

should be close to the same for a gp.
 
I'm going to look for the fuse and pull it to see what happens. They run when the engine is completely cold from the time you start it til about 1 minute after you shut it off. It's really annoying and it's going to burn out the motors eventually.
