Have I been wronged?

So I've been having transmission, lifter, abs/tc/sc issues with my 08' GXP so I took it in to Pontiac since it's still under warranty. Since it was at 60k it was due for another tranny flush, filter replacement, so I told them to throw it on the list of things they were going to do to the car. I get a call saying it's done and the service rep said they couldn't find the tranny issue but replaced all 16 lifters and the abs wheel hub, they also flushed and replaced the tranny filters at a cost to me of $230 dollars. So I drive off the lot and instantly notice they did not understand the tranny issue, so I do a U-turn bring it back in and told the dude to come for a ride with me. Long story, short...he realized there was actually a tranny issue and took the car back in. They are now in the process of ordering a brand new transmission for the car...

So being a little frustrated about the fact that I just dropped $250 into an already bad transmission I talked to the service manager about getting my money back. He said the transmission flush was the next logical step anyways so I'm not really out any money. I don't really agree with that mentality considering they didn't even open up the transmission to look at it since they couldn't duplicate the issue to begin with. How that happened I don't know it's pretty glaringly obvious. Is something wrong with this picture? Now I can look at this one of two ways....I just got 10k in warranty work done for $230 dollars and walk away smiling, or I can be pissed that they didn't find an issue and still flushed the tranny yet there was a problem to begin with. At a very minimum when they replace the transmission they better be using new filters as part of the replacement "kit" and not trying to save their ass and use the ones I just paid for. I'd really like them to bottle my tranny fluid and give my 5 day old filters to me so I can use it for later use.

Ok, done ranting...thoughts?

they should refund the tranny flush and filter since there was a problem with the tranny and it is under warranty. If nothing was wrong with the tranny than that is just like changing the oil and you would have to pay.

They would have found a problem with your trans the very first time you come to them after your warranty expired. :th_sick2:

The same way that my control arm bushings needed replacement....until they found out I had extended warranty (it was nearly expired). Then I was told the bushings were not at the point of warranty replacement.

The service manager basically told me they won't be refunding my money not sure if I want to push it further. I have the car back while they are awaiting parts, by the time they replace the trans I'll have put on less than 200 miles on the car. Should I try and salvage the transmission filters that I got basically 0 use out of? Kind of pissed all of that fluid is going to waste too.

my last truck, the trans started to slip only in reverse, i took it in, under warranty, when i dropped it off i showed the asshole at the counter, took him outside and made it slip. they call me and tell me they cant find a thing wrong.

i flipped out on the guy who called, told him to go back outside take his left foot and push the brakes, and floor it in reverse, calls back and tells me again theres nothing wrong, at this point i told him if i have to waste my time and come there to show your ase mechanics how to test a trans for slipping ill blow it to pieces right in their lot, 10 minutes later they said ok we made it slip. fine.

they replace some parts, 2 days later the i hear the pump whining like mad, take it back, new pump installed, 6 days later all forward gears are slipping like mad! and my transfer case was acting up now as well, they tell me im getting a brand new trans from gm,,cool and they would rebuild the t case, also cool.

5 days later they tell me its ready, i pick it up look under it to see the new trans before i left, and find this nice repair to the t case, I FVCKING LOST IT!

i was also given a brand new t case..2 months later, i even told the manager wtf is wrong with you guys???you put epoxy on it and called it a sunny day?

Yeah I hear ya, I'm regretting even mentioning anything about the tranny flush, I shouldn't have assumed they were going to find the problem the first time around. I won't be putting that faith back into any other dealership thats for sure. Should be a good time come tomorrow when I walk in there and raise hell, better yet I may send my wife in..she will get so annoying and persistent they may just refund us to shut her up.

the service counter at my dealer knew me by first name as i walked in the door every time, i used to put 30,000 miles a year on this truck and it was used hard as a plow truck, a roofing work truck and i had over sized tires, so all that related to lots of front end work, new springs wheel hubs like 6 of em, when i had 40 miles left on my warranty i got the trans replaced the t case and the rear end rebuilt, so over 5 years i must have gotten 20 grand worth of dealer rate laborer and parts.

the best one was i had a ticking noise so i dropped it off and they found nothing, i got back home and found the rear exhaust manifold bolt was gone, they do suck.
