Actually the stock chrome torque stars arnt that bad looking, and there pretty light really. IMO, if your going to go go aftermarket, you shouldent buy one-offs or cheap rims. Go for the best.
I have two sets like I said, and there ugly as hell. There just not a good looking rim. Me, my dad, and my GF noticed that ASAP, all of them have aftermarket rims on there GPs. Like I said, they make good space in the attic, or mounted on some Hoosier QTPs. When I bought my GTP, the stock wheels we're off in less than 24 hours and haven't been back on since. Until I get some slicks that is.
As for aftermarket, I always buy good wheels. I bought my KMC Motion 754 wheels 10 years ago, I forget but they were well over $1,000+ . There 10 years old and have at least 200,000 miles on them between two cars and I run them year round too. The chrome on all of them is great, none of them ever been curbed, pretty damn good wheels IMO. I got my moneys worth out of them. I may hang on to them, they owe me nothing.
And FYI, I have 18'' American Racing Casino's, chrome of course.
: )
Yeah i've seen those before, not quite the style of spoke I like though. Plus I don't like those wannabe rivits/dimples. Not my taste. I seen a set today when I went wheel shopping.
The AR 192 look good, but everyone and there dog has them, very overplayed IMO.
my polished 5 spokes look better than those. and who said i run stockers when its summer?
Yeah I suppose, if you like that style wheel which ain't my taste. The 95-96 5-spoke 16x8s look 150 times better than those, but there big draw back is not being availible and chrome. I kinda like the hidden lugs on mine better too, besides I hate polishing rims or anything, Chrome FTW hands down IMO. You can polish wheels all day to get a shine, I can spend 10 mins with a bottle of windex and outshine a polished rim any day of the week period, even on my 10 year old rollers. The choice is easy for me.
Why do people have the ass for my wheels anyway? I don't get it, there a standard 5 spoke wheel and there chrome. I could see if someone hated that design, but I don't get it. Is it because there not 18s? Is it because they don't show off nasty beat uo lug nuts?
I get more compliments on my decade old wheels than I do any other part of my car, then again no one really notices my car itself, its just another GP.
To clarify, I'm a big fan of 5 spoke wheels + chrome, not to say I hate ever other wheel too. For ex, I like the Stang Bullits but the only reason I wouldn't do those is that there VERY common in the GP world nowadays, and I like to be a bit different. Much like the AE 077s were back in the day...
