Hard shifting



I did this same job, only I went ahead and replaced both solenoids and the switch on the accessible side of the tranny. It fixed my hard shifting problem, but for some reason, even after resetting the TAPs and the PCM, my SES light goes off, but comes right back on in a couple miles. Still throwing the "TCC stuck on" code. No hard shifting still, though, so I'm confused what's causing it. I have also noticed the car won't downshift like it should when taking off hard. That may be caused by an out of adjustment TV cable, but I'm wondering if it's related to my "TCC stuck on." Any ideas???
 
Resolved! After manually working car through the lower gears a few times, the fluid must have finally made it into the converter, because it miraculously started working! Reset the PCM, and no more SES light, car goes into passing gear just fine, and all is well.
 


Hey Trannyman,

How much would you charge me to drive my wifes car up there from Louisville and drop it off for a week to have this done. Dropped the pan and put in a new filter and new gasket a month ago. Her car will drive for a day no problem, then the next day it will shift hard through the gears. Then it may drive fine the next day or do the same. Sounds like I have this problem too!
