• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

hard shift between 1rst and 2nd

I have been taking it easy on the car for the past 4 months or so. Gas is expensive...:th_biggrin2:. I finally get into it and go WOT thru 1rst gear only to be surprised at the shift. I have my settings almost stock to prevent what I'm about to explain. The car shifts so hard the tires chirp at the shift. This is not what I want. It hasn't done this before. Does the car need to relearn WOT or ????? (is my trans going:eek:).

I would take a look over the tune again in all areas for line pressure/shift firmness/ shift timing for each shift and make sure things are close to stock or just put completely stock tables back in. Max line pressure can cause this but you would likely notice this during normal or hard driving without going WOT. There are a few things in the trans that could cause this but isnt real common. Also if you can scan while it happens watch the pressure control solenoid commanded and actual current and see what the numbers look like so this will verify a pcm or internal problem

Adaptive shift strategy, I guess that's what they call it. Anyway I'm not a fan and i'd love for it to be gone. It's not working in my opinion. Anytime you play with it and try to set it back to stock you are likely to encounter some whiplash while it learns itself. There are companies that say they can fix it, but I don't believe them, cuz all they can do is adjust the e.p.c. pressure to command the shift to happen in a certain amount of time as opposed to what the computer is looking for. It's pretty much a battle these days. unfourtunatley if you are a ture inthusiast I don't believe it's going to be possible to replace the e.p.c with a vacuum modulator on these vehicles unless we do it ourselves. Front wheel drive vehicles have always been neglected by transgo. One reason the market isn't there. Anything is possible so if you really want it lets do it and like it.
