ABS is meant to help you "keep control" under hard breaking not stop quicker, unless you are someone that just mashes the pedal. I remember in the early '90s when ABS came out everyone thought they could just stomp on the brake to stop. Try going down a gravel road with ABS and TC it's almost as if you've had a 12 pack too many.
