Had my car 1 week and look what happened damn ABS did't work



My gp didn't come with abs or tc, I'm on my own and I like it... My old grand am had abs and tc, I remember having a really hard time stopping in ice and snow and having to turn tc off to get out of snow
 
my traction control is turned off at the mere sight of a wet road, never mind snow, when its on in snow you can't even move.
 
I use my abs and Tc as a barometer on how shlock it is out. My only accidents are being hit by most vehicles with abs and Tc.
Another about banks, nearly all of them do not own the land their buildings are on. So its funny to hear mention of a bank not wanting to loan any particular amount. I assess financial business holdings.

Your accident was not caused by your abs/tc not,working as previously stated, abs increases your stopping distance and the tc prevents your tires from spinning while your accelerating.
And traction control in a fwd car is stupid it just makes you get stuck and prevents you from getting unstuck.

ABS is meant to help you "keep control" under hard breaking not stop quicker, unless you are someone that just mashes the pedal. I remember in the early '90s when ABS came out everyone thought they could just stomp on the brake to stop. Try going down a gravel road with ABS and TC it's almost as if you've had a 12 pack too many.
 
i completely disagree with the bashing towards ABS and TC

traction control is not meant for snow or mud, it is meant to keep you from sliding in slick conditions like rain or icey roads.

TC has saved me several times when i had my 05 impala, during heavy rains and the winter blast last year in texas.

im driving my wife's 98 cavalier with no abs while my engine is being put back together, and i hate it, damn thing locks up all the damn time.. once the wheels lock up, you better hope you aimed your car the right way or your smacking in the back of the car thats in front of you.

all these advances in technology has been developed because they DO increase the safety of everyday driving. people say they want to be able to control their cars?? you are controlling your car lol.. with abs now you can steer when your braking, and now you can come out of a slip or sliding in a slick condition.

stability control is even better, but that just goes in deeper..

i guess i have a different view point because i have been properly educated on what these systems do and how they function. graduating Universal Technical Institute in July. my last 4 courses are hotrod and power and performance 1 & 2 then hybrids, hella fun.

anyways, i pretty much thought and felt the same way until i was properly educated.
 
Down here in Texas if it hasn't rained for a long time those first few drops on the road make it like you're on ice. I know what ice is all about 'cause I'm originally from Pittsburgh PA. I didn't notice this rain slick phenomenon while living up in the North East.

Has anyone else experienced this in other parts of the country?

Heard that. And isn't driving supposed to be about having control over the car? if not get a taxi..whats the difference?
 


I agree, ABS is a life saver. It has gotten me safely stopped in many possible collisions in Arlington. If any of you have driven Cooper at rush hour... You would understand.
And our Jeep doesn't have ABS, I hit a guy because the brakes locked up and the tires just skidded til I hot the FedEx truck, luckily I got slow enough that I barely taped him, and that rubber bumper guard on that truck stopped any damage on his truck. I just had to bend my bumper back a bit.
And as for TC, my dad has a 06 Charger Daytona with TC and it rocked in the snow, it did better than the 4Wheel drive Jeep did
 


I have never had ABS or TCS in any of my cars. And quite frankly, I am glad I learned how to drive a car without it.
