The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
You're comparing something designed to handle a crash at that speed with a solid roll cage to a unibody car. They aren't even close to being the same. Also in your comparison, side swiping a wall is much different than catching the corner of a semi on the rear of a semi to the B pillar. Based on the damage, the corner of the truck probably went into the passenger area of the car through the passenger window.
Wasn't my comparison. I was pointing out it's not like sideswiping a wall at all. It looked more like the GP began to slide or turn and was caught on the corner of the semi, and when it did, it can-openered the GP, and probably spun quite a bit.
The guy was on the radio talking about it the next morning. He was on his way to work and fell asleep, woke up in just enough time to try to swerve. He said his face was bruised up, right hand was swelled up as well but he was fine besides that. They talked about the pontiac and he was pretty upset about losing that.
Most cars build within the last 5 years or so are pretty darn safe. Still... if he'd had a passenger they'd be minced meat by now. I'd also hate to wonder what would happen if the truck driver was stand outside his truck when that happened.
I wwould hardly count the guy walking away as being the gps safety lol. I would say luck. If he was the passenger he would be dead. And the car is split in two.
