GXP Transaxle Squeak

Have an 06 GXP, recently when backing up there is a sqeak in the front end. Its the same sound as a brake tab rubbing. I took the calipers off and still made the sound, it sounds like its coming from the axle where it enters the differential.

Anyone have this problem? Anyone have ideas what it might be?

Thanks

Not sure if this will help but is something you can inspect. A few months ago we had a customer car, 06 Monte SS LS4 car, and it had an odd rubbing noise in the front end and the problem was the left front inner cv hub rubbing on the axle seal. There was no snap-ring on the output shaft and because of this it allowed the hub to walk in too far and rub against the seal.

I know I'm lifting a thread from the dead here, but has anyone figured this one out? I'm getting a loud squeak when backing up. Brakes and wheel bearings have all been replaced and I don't think these are the problem. It sounds like the noise is coming from the point where the front left axle meets the differential. This is our only driver so I need to keep her road worthy and I'm at a loss here.
