• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

GXP Sand Car project

sure, but your still wot all the time, from a dead stop over and over and over. and of course some good old skip shifts included in the mix. tell me thats not going to add up to a blown tranny sooner or later if left stock. even a built one i think would have some trouble down the road being driven on full tilt abuse mode. :th_winking:

id also want one of them locking diffs, both wheels doing the right thing will make it take off faster for sure vs the one wheel spin.

That's the sprags you're worrying about with it going from load to Coast to load... you're going from being locked up to freewheeling and then back to lockup.

you need to be gentle with that s*** even on a built transmission.... but sand is far more forgiving than asphalt

Yes guys, this trans will be built up. I would never think off using this set up in a sand car being stock... However, it will be on the street as well but, not being beat on. Even in the sand, it will not be abused. It will pretty much only be jumping and an occasional "rolling wheelie"

The sudden shock is the big thing to worry about.

A lot of people like to "clean the tires" before a run down the strip...and this is usually where you see the failures. That and the hard skip shift downshifts.

"run down the strip?" I'm not drag racing here bud. LOL. Just messing around in the dunes. I understand it will be hard on the trans to land the trans "loaded" from a jump. This will be the most I am worried on for my situation...
