Gxp rear tires

i own a 06 gxp the rear tire size is 225/50-18 , kinda hard to find . so i wonder if i could go with 225/45-18 ? any suggestions will they fit?

theyre gonna be smaller than stock and increase your wheel gap. id suggest going taller rather than shorter.

225-50-18 is a very common tire.. comes stock on a lot of oem vehicles.. If you want the 45 aspect ratio you'll need a wider tire. I'd suggest a 245-45-18 to replace your 225-50-18.

the rear wheels are 18x7, correct?

means you can easily get away with a 235 or 245 wide tire.

Yes they are and very easy.

On the new wheels I'm running, I'm at 255. With a little bit of rub in the back when flying around a corner with a person in the back seat. :th_thumbsup-wink:

it was a tight fit. not alot room for anything much bigger

Do you mean you don't think a larger tire would fit on your rim? Or do you mean a larger tire wouldn't fit in the wheel well?

And are you talking about the 7" rim?

I'm confused.

im assuming he is talking about the tire height considering he is running a taller tire than stock. however if he would have stayed with the stock overall diameter and gone with a wider tire he could have fit a much wider tire.

you could easily fit 245s.
i was considering that option , but the 245 was has a smaller diameter than the stock tires, and there was good chance they wouldnt have passed a PA. state inspection. in PA. you can go up , but not down.

There are people running 265's on 04+...

Eh. I think there would be some issues there without hardcore fender rolling. Go 245 and you will be safe, or you could push it like me with 255's, I think even with that I'm gonna eventually need fender rolling.
