Gxp lug nut help (front wheels)

I searched "lug nuts" in this forum, but didn't see anything posted about this yet. I've also Googled for these without a whole lot of success.

I'm replacing the rear 7" wide rims with two more 8" rims. I went to Advanced Auto yesterday for lug nuts, and all they could supply was the shorter ones for the 7" wide rims.

I just got off the phone with a local dealership, and they quoted me $13 per lug nut for the 8" rims. (That's "PER LUG NUT"). WTF ??

Does anyone have a source for these or know of a replacement lug I can use?

Thanx in advance.

I went with 8" alcoas on the rear of mine as well, the larger lugs are not cheap. My local dealership charges $22+ per lug. Yep, you read that right. If you wanted to purchase new lugs all around it'd cost you over $400 for lugs only from them. Wowzers......

Good luck, post if you find any cheaper.

The service salesman I talked to told me he'd sell me the OEM lugs for his cost of $9 each. I could get by with just buying 8 of them since 2 are currently locks. I'm not happy with the way the locks look though since they're so short. It looks like one's missing. I know they're there, but it never stops me from bending down to look anyway. LOL!

After it was suggested, I've been considering buying a whole new set of racing / tuner lugs. Although I haven't found any yet, I thought red ones would look good with the calipers for a little personalization. No?

I say go for the racing tuner lugs. If your going to be replacing them anyways you might as well as go for the personalization. I think it would be a very subtle/clean thing to do that might set your wheels off very nicely.

Best, Lenny

They wont be read if you take your wheels off alot. Its just anodized and it wears off easy.

But yeah, hey some closed ended tunner lugs. There like $30 for a set

got any pics of the new rims?

yes the paint does wear off the lugs, my black ones will be back to chrome if I'm not careful

They're basically the same rims, but the 2007 - 2008 version without the rivets or ALCOA markings, and they'll be 8" wide all the way around instead of being 7" in the back.

They get installed today with new tires, which is what started this whole ball rolling in the first place. I'll post some pics if I get time later on.

did you go into an auto store with one? I had mine and they also had in the system the rear and front lugs. Doing my bonnie rims I needed 10 rear lugs. The guy punched it into the system and he said front or rear. I said rear. guy came back with both the long and short lugs...took the smaller ones..and they are not that much.
