Just bought an 07 GXP with some Hood damage to it, the car comes home on Tuesday so I can get pictures then, but it looks like about a 1/16th or 1/32nd chip about 6 inches round, I was curious if the car just has a really thick paint or if I'm missing something.

In the same vein, I know (from reading here) that the bumper and fenders are unique to the gxp, what about the hood? Is the inferno the only after market hood or what other factory hoods fit?

If it's six inches around it isn't a chip. It's peeling. Either from bad paint or corrosion. Hoods are all the same and the aftermarkets are the Inferno and one from Duraflex.
 
This is from obvious damage, not peeling. There is some denting to the hood where the paint is bad. From what I can see it looks like the previous owner either drove under something (no other damage) or a tree/something else fell on it.

Good to know they are all the same though, local boneyard has a GT I might just steal the hood from if I cannot get the one on there to where I like it.
