Guide: How to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2005-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP

I created a "How to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2005-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP" website that gives a step-by-step guide with photos, diagrams, and written instructions on how to do the entire process. https://sites.google.com/view/grand...-cooler-on-a-2004-2008-pontiac-grand-prix-gxp I have parts and tools lists on there as well, with links for where to buy everything. I created this because I was sooooo annoyed I couldn't find a guide online that I thought was useful or well done. What few still exist are incomplete... missing photos... full of dead links... or for custom transmission coolers you can't even buy from TEP anymore. This guide should be useful for Impala SS, Monte Carlo SS, or Buick LaCrosse Super and for people with 2004-2008 3800 V6 Grand Prix cars too, but it's specifically for a Grand Prix GXP. I installed mine in standalone configuration.

Thanks a ton for putting in all the effort to make this guide, I recently bought a GXP and I knew I would be wanting to install a transmission cooler and this guide is exactly what I needed to be able to do it

I used your guide to install a Tru-Cool 30,000 transmission cooler with a thermal bypass rated for 180°. I figured I wouldn't need a 40,000 since I live in Ohio and I went ahead with the bypass for the winter. Had to improvise here and there, but I was able to get it done with all of the same supplies that you used for yours. Trans temp never even gets up to 180° now, even after driving for 2 hours back home and thirty minutes of that being driving in the city.

I bought my first Grand Prix for myself 5 years ago when I was 18. Loved the Grand Prix ever since and the GXP essentially became my 'dream car'. Now that I finally have one I'm hoping to drive it as my every day car for at least the next 10 years.

Your guide is very well detailed and very informative. I wouldn't have even attempted to do this myself if I hadn't come across your guide. I can't say thanks enough man

Absolutely excellent guide. I installed a 30,000K tru-cool instead of the 40,000K and so my installation process went a little bit differently but this guide was immensely helpful, definitely could not have done this myself without this guide
