Ok heres the buick got it started not much a little oil and a good different charged battery, but like they said it has a tick i might need a motor and just drop it in
I said a tick lol, but yeah it sounds bad so if I can get that tranny im going to start looking for a new motor, can I use a 06 Buick motor what would need to be done to it to make it run right?
use the 98 intake, injectors, and what ever sensors dont match plug wise. off the 98 engine and use on the 06. you may need to swap the oil pan or grind some frame or mounts or something to make the al pan work. use all your old exhaust manifolds. not a whole lot really.
in the long run i think you are better off taking what pig tails you need to swap from the 98 harness. not sure if it will plug into the regal pcm or not.
if it does plug right in and works that would be dandy tho. im sure someone knows for sure out there.
You wanna know what you need to make an L26 work in your Regal? I might know a little something.
If you swap UIM's plug the LIM coolant ports. Otherwise get an adapater for the TB, Make sure it doesn't have the CA emissions air tube rear exhaust manifold (if so..swap it). Then drop it in and use your fuel rail. Poof, done.
Ok sounds great, i found a few motors im looking at, a few all under 90xxx first is a 06 with 34, one with 90 from another car, and a 05 supercharged Impala motor with 75xxx, so I just need some money and it will be a go with the regal project im going to go out now and take a video one with and without the belt.
Where's the car located, another state? hahahahaha
I swapped a Lucerne engine into mine. Put on the TB adapter, swapped the rear exhaust manifold and the oil filter adapater (it tucked under motor instead of over subframe). Dropped it in, put the fuel injectors and rail from the old motor.. pooof..
Don't swap harnesses, keep the car's harness. All the rest of the stuff is close enough. Oh..and I used the L26 Evap. Just pulled the wiring out of the loom a little to make it reach.
Lol im sorry I had a long day at work and just feel asleep, I get off work ttomorrow early so I will take the video then, im definitely wanting to get the motor with 34xxx miles I need to sell some parts hahaha
sorry I didn't post back right away I figured im going with a low miles motor and put it in, I saw white smoke come from the exhaust so I know the gaskets are bad, what is your guys thoughts?
I cant wait till Friday getting gpos tranny and a few last parts for the gtx im too excited
Ok so im getting the stage 2 transmission this pay check, I owe a little more on the gpos sellers holding them for me as I pay off, and might get the injectors with the transmission. I need new rocker arm bolts getting them with the gasket and a tb gasket and a good tune and hopefully I will have the gtx up and running, anyone is more then welcome to come help and then I will start the regal build next I have a lot to do and figure out still but going to keep the projects moving:]
Stage 2 trans, what's in stage 2 and who built it? That rusty looking input shaft/stator and that it's up on it's back instead of pan doesn't give me the best of feelings. On it's back won't hurt anything, but why..
