• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Gtx has a turbo!! lol

Re: so bad sound from engine help me lol

No, 2004+ (Gen V) are drive-by-wire, meaning no throttle cable, it's all computer controlled. They also have a 4 bolt flange, whereas the Gen 3 is a 3 bolt flange, that's why you need the adapter plate.

Re: so bad sound from engine help me lol

Yea, I need one of those, what year did you get that gasket off of? I want one bad now, lol.

Re: so bad sound from engine help me lol

I found it, they're 06+ gaskets. Mine came off an 04, so I got hosed on that one. I have the part number now, and it's cheaper! Thanks man!

GM part number: 12584411

Lol yeah its actually a 06 so that would be why is there a way to use the fuel rails I don't think I can just took them with lol

Re: so bad sound from engine help me lol

You can use it, but you'd have to buy some more stuff, and there is no advantage to it at all. the stock l67 fuel rail works just fine, I have it on mine. Here's a pic, and you can also see the throttle body adapter.

Re: so bad sound from engine help me lol

I know the Northstar TB is the next engine upgrade I'll be doing, after suspension is done. I know you need a different adapter plate, external MAF, a tune for it, and connectors for the N* TPS, IAC, etc. You can buy adapters for the connectors, or cut your stock connectors off and solder the Northstar connectors (harvested at a JY). You know me, I plan the second one. Thats about all I know about the swap itself, I need to find out what year Northstars are compatible, and all the little details out on the swap.

Re: so bad sound from engine help me lol

The "right" one looks like this:

is.aspx

is.aspx

Not to say you couldn't make the one you have work, but it would be much more effort than finding the "right" one.

The whole N* TB isn't really worth getting into unless you have some more serious mods like ported heads, cam or intercooler.

Re: so bad sound from engine help me lol

Yea, thats why I went the l67 TB route, I needed my car on the road again. The l67 TB's bore is smaller than the Gen V, so it'll be a bottleneck. Not a big one, but something I'll fix down the road, either by porting my TB or going Northstar.

Just for our reference, would you know what year(s) those TB's came off of?

Re: so bad sound from engine help me lol

Don't bother porting it.

It'll just make tuning it more difficult. If you need the flow, go with the N*. Easier to tune, and flows more.

I believe it's the 00-04 era, but I'm not 100% confident in those numbers. Mostly the start year.

Re: so bad sound from engine help me lol

Awesome, thanks for the info. Whenever I get to the point where I'll be doing the swap I'll compile as much info as I can on the subject.
