Well.... I will not be posting a ride along, drag race vid of my awesome 06 GT vs GTR like I had wanted to from this thread

Sad sad day... After Months of this GTR getting built, then breaking from a weak driveshaft , they ( and me ) were finally happy to see it DE tuned and ready for a fun weekend of street racing .. ( a once a year race in my town ) but it turned out to be not so good... Piss poor track conditions, and a nasty little gtr led to disaster

Would of been 100x better if the girl filming didn't take the camera off the cars..



Either way what a bummer :(
 
All in all not to bad. Car is still rolling along under its own power and everyone is alive. Could have been much worse.
 
I will say this if I had a GTR or any car that I cared about and came upon poor track conditions I wouldn't have ran it. The risk out weighs the rewards.

Risk and reward dude... over 100 cars had a different mentality than you,,,, to much power and the car let go, no reason to be a cocky ****head about it....


Its a once a year race and the GTR was AWD,, He didnt think it was an issue, but it was... oh well replace and repair...

What's the deal with everyone dropping their camera? It's not like dudes head exploded or anything.


So will he be willing to trade for a lets say somewhat low mile Grand Prix?

Damn, that sux. It's easy to say he should have lifted, but it takes experience to have the discernment between a little spin and time to let out of it. That's why the GTRs are so popular with the launch control. They do it for you. I this case he couldn't use it. I would still be pissed if I was the guy in the other lane.
 
With over 1000 whp on e85, and no prior traction issues, you can't blame him. Being in the car, vs being on the outside looking in with ignorant "coulda/shoulda" comments is just stupid

He had 3 front driveshafts snap within a 1 month span, which is why he couldn't launch at 5100 rpm like the car is supposed to, with slicks of course... So he was just holding the brake to get the rpms up then let it go...

Also I will say 2 other cars went sideways that day, and into the other Lane. One of those being a guy who actually won this year and last year in C class (the fastest class) and has been drag racing for 40 years......

So before your quick to jump on the blame wagon, understand the situation first
