• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

GTP vs Turbo Scion

I down shift, because if it's kept in Drive, it shifts at a max of 5500rpms, where in gear it'll shift right at 6k. But I do try to keep the rpm's down when I ****, so it doesnt slam too hard

:th_shakinghead2: you can down shift in a roll race so you dont have to wait for the downshift but you have to be precise enough and quick enough to slap it right into drive after you floor it so that it doesnt over rev and shifts itself...dont manually shift an auto through gears....epic fail.

no aftermarket pcm, got an overkill pcm in the mail as we speak, and I've played around enough to shift it right as it hits 6k, so it doesnt hit the rev limiter.

Plus i try to feel badass, i mean, i need something to do in a damn 4-door sedan, right?

do not change gears. leave it in drive all the time. if you cant time it so that when you floor it and your downshift hits on the third honk (if thats how youre doing it) then youre physically incapable of thinking ahead.

It's not that I cant time it, that's easy, its the fact that the car shifts at 5500rpm in 2nd at about 75 when it's in drive. If i keep it in 2nd, I can run it to 6k, and shift it at just over 90.

Either way, Overkill PCM is coming in, so that should let me keep it in drive.
