GTP vs Ford Focus "GT"

So on my way home, kind of in a rage because of my girlfriend, and im coming up to a light where a car is stopped in the left lane. I casually pull into the right light as i was. Before i pulled to the front of the line, i looked to see what car it was next to me. Saw the Ford badge on the trunk lip, then saw the FOCUS on the left and a "GT" on the right half. I'm thinking to myself....focus....gt? NAAAAAH. So the light turns green and we both go up to 20 or so casual. I pull ahead of him a little, he then returns the gesture and starts pulling up to even. I decided i wanted to bait him in to see if he was going to run, so i jump it a little about half a car infront of him. Right away in my mirror i see him respond and floor it ahead. Before we got toe and toe i punched it ahead of him, but sure as ****, two cars were stopping for a yellow light. So he pulled ahead and got first in the left lane for the light, me behind two other cars on in the right lane. I casually jump behind him. Light goes green and he gases it ahead of the car in the right. With an opening, i shoot the gap and pull ahead of him, half throttle. Immediately he floors it also. The whole time i'm ahead up til 70 mph on a 35mph road. Not the smartest thing, i wasnt thinking clearly due to the GF rage. But everytime i would punch it, let go, allow him to catch up, then punch it ahead of him. Did this about 3-4 times until we approached the light where i had to turn home, and apparently so did he, just the opposite direction. Got to watch out for those dark tinted, blue HID, Focus "GTs" man... And yes, my car is all stock. Cant wait to mod it.
 


It was an older focus model. I knew the newer ones have decent power. Or maybe im thinking of the fusion...

Yeah I deff said ST. But still the st will keep up in first gear. They are a quick 2.3. I just turbo'd my buddies 2005 st. He is running 8 psi at wot and this thing is a beast. It kept up with my GTP. Just saying they can be made into beasts.
 


Buddy had a full exhaust SVT Focus. Quite a bit on the bottle. Went 13.7x's.

I'm saying...your "average" 3.4" setup GTP will go mid to low 14's...some crack high 13's...I don't consider anything in the 12's or higher "beast". In fact, and it is sad to say...11's are getting more and more common now. My sh1t is slow.

Absolutly right. Now a days a 13s street car aint ****. You got 9 second evos and sti's dricing on the streets all over. Anyone take a look at the new 3.8 Genesis? Their crazy fast. Its all perspective. Im the one with the focus Emonsters talking about and for a focus...its a beast, for a focus. keeps up with his all day with the 3.4, intake, and tune from zzp. All i did was throw a GT28rs, FMIC, and 8lbs of boost. If i sprayed it, which i plan on, it would run low 12s no problem. Anyone with a question can come run me.
 
Doesn't even sound like a good idea to spend money for a 3.4 setup with supporting mods anymore :( sigh finally when I thought I have a quick car haha, turns out I'm out dated.

9 seconds evo's and sti's driving all over the streetz...you sure about that? And you went from talking about 9 second cars to talking about the new 3.8 genesis without skipping a beat, as if they relate...speaking of perspective.


So where are you from? I could think of a few questions to ask you.;)

Jgrove's ST Boost Build - Focus Fanatics page 9 is mine and his discussion. My mods were 3.4 pulley, headers, intercooler. I ran that car and romped him in first he held my pull in 2nd gear and I had to let off because of the stang in our way I was about 2-3 cars in front when I let off.
I LOL. 3.8 genesis fast? You Turbo focus keeping up with a mildly moded GP, and you saying come at me? lol
