GTP vs 94 Mustang GT

I think bringing in higher end cars to justify that is no really getting any where because obviously if people could afford those they would. Average Americans with average paying jobs can't come close to owning vehicles like those. I'm a gear head and when I decided to trade my cougar I wanted to get something that had still plenty of go. It just so happened that I stumbled on my Grand Prix and it met all the criteria I was searching for. Now back in the day I got a chance to test drive a 2003 GTP sedan that was white right at the dealership. I wanted to trade my Mustang in on it at the time a bit because I was really impressed with it but I didn't because I couldn't afford the payment at the time. :D

That's my point. ;)

Let's take out the whole exotic, super expensive car and compare a Grand Prix to some different vehicles.

GTO or GP
G8 or GP
LS whatever Camaro or GP
Trans Am or GP
Corvette or GP
CTS V(earlier years) or GP
03 Cobra or GP
And the list goes on

All cars average middle class people can afford. Again it comes down to what someone can afford with insurance/car payment. Lets be real a Grand Prix is a cheap car and the demographics that own them on this site and others are the younger crowd. That in itself proves my point ;)

Even if you have some old fart like myself that owns one. I am almost willing to bet they have a second vehicle and it's not a GP.

Cheers.

Besides there's no arguement. RWD>FWD

Fixed.

lol if he wants he can bring that ss to wi and ill put it in its place with my lil old fox....

Don't brag, nobody in the LSx circles is impressed with the 5th gen either.

One of the things ive noticed most about GP drivers is that their goal is to beat a LS1. :th_laugh-lol3:

Ha.

when i had my 01 ss i realized there wasnt as much of a aftermarket following as the mustang...

Incorrecto humungo.
For the record...LS1's aren't fast in my book anymore.

I never realized you were illiterate.

LS1's were never fast it's just a common belief when you drive something slow. ;)

Both of you need just one ride. Come to Florida, and bring your diapers. Complimentary cups of STFU are served here.

Are you kidding me? No one in the right mind buys a GTP because they like the platform and that's the only reason why. If money or insurance wasn't an issue I seriously doubt people would be buying a Grand Prix. What you are telling me that if someone had the choice between a ZR1, exotic, insert x supercar that they would choose none of them and go with a Grand Prix. Seriously?

And if people could they would purchase a second or third vehicle and mod that starting with a better platform. Just like a few of us have. ;)

No, you took what I said out of context. You said they are stuck in v6 mode, or could only afford a Grand Prix. I said for the money they spend, most could get someting rwd and v8. You're trying to make this a money issue, when my post was about choice. Don't be a douche.

mid 13-second car in 1998, f*ck that ls1, it's got nothing. why not put money into a 3800? simple motor, loads of room to work on it, not the easiest to break, a wide range of aftermarket, and when you're done you have a quick car that doesn't have a target on it. that being said, if i wasn't 4 figures into building the 3800, i'd be putting it into the firebird instead. and i got it cheaper than a lot of gtp's i see.

ok let me explain what i mean by aftermarket, i guess i should have said used parts. i couldnt find hardly any performance parts used for as reasonable prices for ls motors as i could mustangs. i can find used s trims for 800-1500 all the time along with used heads for 600-800 for fox bodies pretty easy plus numerous other parts for alot less.

Yeah, that's why Texas brings weaksaus to the LSx shootout each year.

:th_laugh-pointup:

That's because there is nothing worth racing. Why waste time on other LSx's when you can spend time racing 1000hp Vipers, Supras, and TT lambo's.

Really this is still going? wow

Where is the crybaby smilie? It's called friendly sh1t talking. It's something the young generation on this site can't do. And then they get butthurt when it happens. Must be that liberal sh1t they teach you guys in school now.

If you don't live in Flordia or Texas GTFO. Cause everyone elses sh1t is slow. Its common knowledge that Flordia and Texas have the fastest street cars in the US.

They all sound the same! Every single one. The only reputable mustangs are the SVT cobras. Even the new 5.0s are turds. My buddy pounded one on the the ground with with 2010 Camaro SS.

Ha you obviously have know idea what you are talking about. The camaro SS is putting down around 500HP the stock new 5.0 is putting down 12HP less then the 03-04 cobra's. at the wheels the 5.0's are around 350-355.

And clearly you are an expert quoting stats like that.
