FYI - Freeway was empty. My brother called me up saying he ran his mild bolt-on t/a against his friend in his ls2 gto. GTO had a few wins over my brother’s T/A. the gto would pull after the third honk anywhere from a half car to 2 car lengths but then after a while they stay that way with no one pulling.

Heres are the mods on the T/A and GTO:
T/A – SLP LID, SLP LT headers, catless exhaust to a magnaflow muffler, A4
LS2 GTO – CAI, Headers IIRC, exhaust, HP Tuners custom tune, A4
GTP - stock motor with ZZP Z7 turbo kit w/T66 at ~14-15psi

The GTO and I ran 8 times. 4 from a dig and the other from various rolls, such as at a 30 and 40 mph roll. I break-boosted on all runs as well as ran at ~14.5-15psi.

Dig races
His launch was alright, minimal wheel spin with the same as me except for one run where I bogged the launch and he got me by 2 cars. All the other 3 races where I launched decently well I got him by 3-4? cars by 115-120mph. I could clearly see him in my center-view mirror

Roll races
Won all of them and got him by 3-4? cars by 110mph. Again, I could clearly see him in my center-view mirror. 2 of the roll races he actually got on the throttle before I did and I went past by him.

He was very surprised that my car was very quick. That’s all.

the funny thing is i want my GTP to be my daily driver and get a GTO as a weekend car or somethin but that nuts, I was wondering if I was on the right video cuz the goat was gone in the beginning then u just blew right by him thats pretty sweet
 


i gave him the hit a few times and i sill managed to past him within a matter of 2-3 seconds which surprised me alot.
 


Damn man good run!! I think u just sold me on my performance set up btw what kind of turbo kit are u running with??
 


well like mentioned above its a Z7 kit frmo ZZP with an older T66(T62-1 according to ZZP's site?). if you're planning on turbo, its best to use the money to get a stronger transmission as thats most likely the first thing to go when you go turbo.
 
Somewhat off topic but I toasted an 04 GTO 5.7 in my MR2! This video was posted on youtube by someone who got it from the MR2 forum where I posted it back in 05. The car was an 04 GT0 5.7L not a 6.0 as the video states. The reason for the non race deal the first run was he forgot to turn off his t/c and didn't want to waste a hard run by keeping goin so he took it easy. The second run was all go! Never race an MR2 from a dig unless you have AWD, but he wanted to! His car had full exhaust, CAI and thats it. I hate when people butcher crap up when it's not even the right car. haha! My car had stock turbo with a 60 trim compressor and 10* turbine clip, full exhaust, big i/c, intake, bov, and custom ECU tune running 16psi boost.
