I've got a 95' grand prix GTP

i've done just about everything to this car.... all gaskets, tranny mounts, just EVERYTHING lol

its been running good lately... still having issues with my fan, it will stay on after i turn the car off

my main worry right now is...... when im sitting at a red light and im about to take off, the car struggles to get going, it will just start off rough, it doesnt sit there and rev and then click and go... it will start going but slowly and awkwardly... i hope its not my tranny slipping can anybody help me with this one??

thank you!

How long do the fans stay on after the car is shut off? And is it the same amount of time every time?

When you take off at a light, does it run fine after you get going?

hey thanks for the response.... its just the one fan, the fan actually kills my battery if i dont catch it, its very inconsistent, most times will shut off but a few times a week it stays on and i have to take the relay out and back in

yes it runs good when i get going and up to speed.. just that initial take off

Well with the fan issue, you'll need to find out why it's staying on. When you pull the relay, find out if power is still being supplied to the solenoid in the relay from the computer. If not, the relay is sticking and needs to be replaced.

I'm not really sure what to say about the hesitation issue. I could be like a lot of people and mention all tune up items. I'm not familiar with the 3.4 DOHC engine, maybe someone else who does will stop by.

Im the DOHC guy around here...
When you say you have done all the gaskets, what gaskets did you do? The lower intake gaskets are the ones that leak the most, followed by vac lines for the PCV system. there is one bellow the lower intake. also with all the vac lines it has the rubber elbows can crack and cause vac leaks.

How many miles do you have on it? has the timing belt been changed? if so are you sure the engine is in time correctly?

lastly when was the last tune up and what type of plugs did you use? the factory heat range is equivalent to the Autolite 605 single plat. every DOHC i have worked on and see runs lean stock. i recommend autolite 104's again single plat. our DIS/waste spark system does not like the double plat plugs. nor does it like bosch or splitfires.

where in florida are you at? im in the daytona area.
