gtp pcm security question

Ive heard there is a couple yrs of 2nd gen gp pcms that dont need unlocked to use it on another car. 98-99 right? Thanks

They arent ever locked per say, but there is just a chance that you need to do a security relearn and case relearn when installing a different pcm.

If you know someone that has a dhp or hp tuner they can do a relearn. It's 6th gen gp btw 97-03

Security learn is with the key itself, if the security light is flashing. You an google the procedure.

Case learn, aka cam and crank sensor relearn can be done with a aeroforce, hp tuners, dhp tuner and a tech 2. Maybe even a snap on modis.

Will it run without doing this if it need it done(no one close has one, would ha e tl drive a ways)

Figured out you can run a 98-99 gtp pcm without flashing as its pk2. 2000+ are pk3 so you have to relearn it. Been running a 99 gtp pcm in my l67 swapped monte 5 monthes now
