GTP over heating

My GTP is over heating and I think it's the thermostat. I put a 180 degree fail safe thermostat in it and it locked open and it never got up to operating temperature after that. It got warm enough to read on the gauge but it never got to normal temp, but when it's in, it over heats in a couple miles of driving it. I have a couple of different thermostats that I have tried but it still over heats. Do you have any Ideas?

I just changed it not a month ago and I do have the orange stuff in there(can you mix the orange and the green together?). The thing is when the thermostat is open it cools just fine, it never gets up to regular temperature.

dont mix the green stuff and the orange stuff... its like putting gravy in your radiator lol. It gets really thick and will get nasty. coolant flush if thats what happened.

I just did a radiator flush and put in a new thermostat(I didn't use a new gasket for the thermostat), and it still over heats. It runs fine without the thermostat and when it's in I know it's getting hot because it steams, but I haven't hooked up a computer yet to see what it says. Any Ideas?

I hooked it up to a computer and it read 122 when the gauge was just above 160 so I think I found the problem. Thanks a lot guys! I still don't know why my thermostat stuck open the first time?
