GTP is Sold! ''Downgraded'' to another Turdgen...

Re: 2000 Redfire Grand Prix GTP. Some small goodies.

Thats what my friend said, honestly we just both laughed it off after a while. The lights were actually near perfect, they were never fogged up, just removed my ghetto tint job since I used that to cover up the condensation.

I was even looking into retrofit since they were basically ready for it.

Like I said, I found some projectors locally but seller is busy at the moment, still waiting to go pick them up.

As far as why I want to get rid of the wheels, is due to me wanting some more aggressive offset wheels. I can always just use spacers but dont know yet. I am really looking into XXR 521s for the summer, just redoing them from Black/machined lip to a Gunmetal/polished lip. We will see, like I said if someone trades me some decent pregens, their gone.

Re: 2000 Redfire Grand Prix GTP. Some small goodies.

Picked up a DHP Pcm yesternight night and god damm. The GTP feels like a whole different car. Everything has been improved. Shifting, Temps, Idle, everything. I love the kick down from 40mph. No more lag. My trans never goes over 150 now.. Engine never goes over 185, Very happy. The car kicks you back in the seat even more now, although I want to get it scanned for KR before I beat on it, I always back down when I beat on it. I know the dhp is known for 3.4 setups and I am probably safe running a 3.5 setup with it but still. I plan to get it scanned this weekend.

Also, my wheels are for sale! $400 with tires. Its a steal since I picked them up for that without tires. Once their sold and gone, new wheels and coils are coming.

Re: 2000 Redfire Grand Prix GTP. Some small goodies.

Sorry to hear about the headlights man. I pulled apart an old set to black them out and see how it looks. I'm maybe halfway done. How did you go about puting the corner lenses back on? Were they bent slightly funny? Mine are giving me problems.

Re: 2000 Redfire Grand Prix GTP. Some small goodies.

I used a heat gun and went by little sections, mine didnt bend at all. I used regular RTV branded clear sealant from Autozone.

Re: 2000 Redfire Grand Prix GTP. Some small goodies.

Alright. I tried baking mine. Headlights went fine but the corners didnt. I pulled apart another set of corners and they will go back together much nicer. The other ones were crap anyway. I will keep the heat gun part in mind because I have one now so that would work nice I think.

Re: 2000 Redfire Grand Prix GTP. Some small goodies.

Well went to the yards today, scored a set of 04+ needles. I also started to remove the VHT from the headlights, did both corners today. Retrofit soon..

Also took some night pictures, I need to get a better camera than my phone, tried tweaking the settings so they look sorta decent.. Enjoy.

Love the 04 speeo set-up. did you have to trim them to work or fit?

Re: 2000 Redfire Grand Prix GTP. Some small goodies.

you only have to trim the longest one (the speedo needle) just a little bit

Re: 2000 Redfire Grand Prix GTP. Some small goodies.

Yep, trim little by little until you like it. Just remember that if it gets stuck, its due to it hitting the plastic cover. I just use small washers.

Re: 00 Redfire Gtp. Updated 01-19-12

The rear indeed does sit too god damm high. I am swapping my wbs springs for some eibachs in the next few weeks hopefully.

Anyways I added a Slp Gen 2 spoiler, Projectors, 12' brakes over the last few weeks. The 12' wont stay for Long since i might put my old Firebirds ctsv brake setup on. Just need to find new wheels that fit my taste

Re: 00 Redfire Gtp. Updated 01-19-12

Maybe when I get the headers installed and drop to a 3.4 lol

anyways I found some roof rails on craig's. Really debating on picking them up. still on the fence about how They would Look on a redfire gtp.

next week is tint time. already made the appointment.

Re: 00 Redfire Gtp. Updated 01-19-12

Car is coming along nicely! Nice subtle additions goes a long ways. I've seen roof rails on a redfire and they look like crap, but then again I think any GP with roof rails looks like crap. If they aren't too expensive you could always purchase, install them, and then sell them here if you decide you don't like the look.

Finally got rid of the Asa's. I love them but they just werent the right fit for the car. Traded em for a set of Eagles 077s. 18x8s. Their in rough shape but I can make em look decent with some polishing.

Enjoy these pictures for now, she's dirty but you get the idea. Btw even the stance of the car changed, perfect stance now imo.

Re: 00 Redfire Gtp. Updated 01-26-12

Those rims are nice with a better stance, still liked those other rims also.

Everyone liked the Asas but the fitment wasn't right. I didn't want to run spacers for the look I was after. Having the wheels sit inside the wheel wells like stock wheels doesn't look that good.

The upside to getting these 18s is I can put to use my ctsv brake kit! I never got to use the kit on my 86 Firebird project since I couldnt see myself selling my 17' torque thrusts and I already had ls1 brakes bolted up.

Re: 00 Redfire Gtp. Updated 01-26-12

Some pictures of it washed. I knew it was gonna rain in a few hours so Didn't go deep into cleaning it.
