well... my beautiful baby is dead. i was driving thru indiana on my way to a funeral and KABOOM. blew a hole in the side of my block. i havent gotten the engine apart yet but im assuming i threw a rod. :( *tear*. and all this right after i put on my 600 pacesetter headers. anyone have any ideas as to what could have happened? i have a 3.4 pulley cai and the pacesetters on it. those are the only mods. 13 miles after i hit 100,000 she committed suicide. i welcome any thoughts anyone has as to what might have happened and what i can do to prevent this in the future when i rebuild my black beauty. thanks guys!

Well, the 3.4 with not enough supporting mods to be running knock-free on a 100k engine may have been the bullet to her head.

Did it make any funny knocking noises leading up to the "KABOOM"? What about your oil pressure light? Did it ever come on?

yeah she was actin a little weird before she committed suicide. i felt some odd vibrations under light acceleration. but i had the 3.4 on there for a while.. i put the headers on to support the pulley and the computer mod was soon to come. there were no warning lights or anything.. im planning a rebuild in the future and i welcome any and all suggestions you guys may have! tips on good parts, where to get em, stuff like that. i wanna make this thing a beast. im kinda new to everything so im always willing to learn and take input.

No mods, no tune, thats what killed it. Its a wonder it lasted through the abuse of the CAI and 3.4" only. Oh well, you learned the hard way. Replace the motor, mod properly this time (or don't mod at all) and move on...
