INFORMATION GTP/GT cladding white residue?

I know many of you are particularly close to your GPs, but this is certainly not a situation created by myself, and an attraction to the car, sexually... That beings said, about 6 months ago, I had noticed some chalky whitish substance on the passenger side cladding of the garage queen sedan, looked somewhat like a compound or such left from a high speed angle polisher- Which let me assure you, that car has never seen. I knocked it off with a few products, and resealed it with Z2, and it seems cured. Last week, I noticed the same sh!t beginning on the '01 Coupe, which is in a different state, and sleeps outside. My question is, have any of you (assuming dark colored car) experienced a similar thing? I'm wondering is this mold(?) WTF? :th_wtf:

Re: GFX cladding white residue?

Hmm I wonder.

My sisters car is black and I've notice white stuff near the cladding before but never thought much of it thinking that someone might have waxed it before she bought it. But that was well over 1.5 years ago and I havent looked since.

Maybe there is doubled sided tape in there that holds moisture or something???

Nope, this encompasses the entire lower cladding (doors only) on both the coupe, and the sedan. Were it not for their climate differences and distance, it would be easier to understand. I'll try to snap a pic of the '01 tomorrow.

It's done that to the cladding on all 3 GP's i've owned. Light and powdery, inside or outside parked. My best guess was mold/mildew.
