gt500

reving is all in the valve train...has nothing to do with the block it self being strong. im not nocking the ls block at all. i actually love it. but to just say the modular blocks is garbage is again just nieve and they are actually stronger than the ls blocks.

lol this is funny......... The lsx has 6 bolt mains? So it has 6 bolts per main cap?

the LS dont blow out at 550 hp when TuneTime just built a stock block LS2 with 850 to the wheels with a kenne belle.
their TBSS went 11.20 on a stock block with a turbo. with 650 to all 4 wheels. i would leave my car out of the equation because it is not faster than a cobra but my times are faster than yours. yes 4 like a 4 bolt main and 2 that go in diagonally
check out their youtube vids too, anger management racing has several 10second twin turbo vettes all on stock blocks with over 100k miles

ive also seen plenty blow at 600hp. ls1 and ls2 vettes with prochargers. if there making over 550 they all opt for built bottom ends. most go forged after 500hp. the ls7 block is stronger tho. i just say what i have read about others and there problems.

I am not sure about the LSX motors but any mustang modular motor except the Terminator cobra (03-04) and the GT500s will grenade at 450. Thats a rule of thumb, some a lil more and some a lil less. The 03-04 cobra has forged internals and are supposed to be able to hold 900 to 1k whp before needing upgrades. I personally have a buddy with an 03 anniversary edition termi. He claims 700whp with to many mods to list and a big juicy kenne bell blower in place of th eaton. On the Hiway a few weeks ago I was behind him at 60 in my GT ( i ran 12.5 at new england dragway) I heard him drop a gear so I did to, at 60 he fishtailed from the middle lane to the slow lane and back and pulled away from me like no other car has ever done. By the time i hit 130 he was no longer in sight. He called me 20 mins later laughing saying he let off at 150 cause he couldnt see me anymore. Anytime any of my buddies talk **** about mustangs he is the fella I call to take a few bucks from them and shut em up.

C6R....wheres ford? name a N/A ford motor thats factory with more than 350hp....there are none. ford is just now going to offer a modular crate motor GM sells their LS for years. 03-04 cobra is a nice car but dollar for dollar you will always be able to do more to a chevy, more affordably. look at the outlaw LSX class, the cars are crazy fast. more like Small Block Chevy FTMFW!!!!!!!!

i agree the lsx motors are bad ass and the better of the two. im just saying the modular motors are no push overs. well the svt ones are not. they are also pretty inexpensive to mod.

I am a ford guy but I have to admit that since 93 (lt1 then ls1) the camaro/firebirds have had the mustangs in the performance area with the exception of the terminators. The lsx series is hands down my favorate motor avalable (in anything I could afford anyway). You have to remember that people who mod like we do are a small percentage of the new car buyers, most people wouldnt buy a $30-$35k car and do things that will throw the warranty out the windw.

The supercharged 4.6 in the terminator was underrated at 390 hp but thats the only one i can think of that ford has made in recent years that breaks the 350 mark. I am selling my GT and the next toy I buy will be an ls1 car or a project that I drop an ls1 in.

Love to see some video of that. You beeing behind him and he nailing it.

I wish I had a vid but I dont ever streetrace and it was kinda a spurr of the moment thing, i didnt have a camera handy. I have been spanked by a few camaros, 2 evos, and an srt8 magnum but nothing has ever walked away from me like this car did.
