cars that make similar power...one has 4 LONGGG gears vs. one with 6 tightly knit gears.

It works.

Especially with slow cars.

Only thing that matters: torque flash increases power for an instant, then falls down.

Unless the converter is locked.

Other than that, it'll shoop da whoop just fine.

Gears are torque multipliers. so multiply diff drive by current gear ratio for torque multiplication.

But higher numbers means less efficiency.

^^^agreed more gears the better. He was prob in a better rpm then you. Plus more gears also helps gas mileage a ton.
