What's the diffrence in a gt and gtp trans? I got a deal on a trans I may go get but I'm not 100% it came out of a gtp. Will it work or what do I have to do? Thanks
 


The stock gtp trans has a 2.93 gear ratio and the stock gt has a 3.29 ratio. To make one work in the other you need a tune.
 
Same transmission...

'97 SE/GT's had the weak vacuum powered 4T60e...you want to stay far away from them...
'97-'02 GT/GTP's had the 4T65E (GT) and 4T65E-HD (GTP)...gearing is said above^^
'03's had the 4T65 BUT...can't be used in any other '97-'02 car because the internal electronics and valve body is different.
