Grounding Kit

Just wanted to know if anyone recommends a certain size and/or brand for upgrading my ground wires? A lot of companies make grounding kits but i havent found one for a 3800 yet. I was thinking 0awg but no smaller than 4awg......

I been procrastinating on this upgrade for a while, Stinger may be too expensive but may be the most efficient wire to run.

Im not sure, any suggestions and/or the contact points i should use to run the upgraded wire?

Thanx.....

you could just make your own wires, get solder on loops for the ends. done, and this way you can run the wires at any length you want and how you want.

heres a vid how to solder on the ends. in this vid he uses a end that looks way to fat, you'll want the wire to fit snug into it. and then use shrink wrap over the connection.

there are other vids that show how to do this as well if you open up this link in you tube.

Thanx man, that was super quick. I didnt think i would get a response that fast. So do you think I need 0awg and/or a premium brand wire?

im no expert, but ive seen people use everything from thin to real fat wire. all depended on their needs. most of the time it was for stereo power upgrades. large systems.

but ive read here that it will make your windows move faster and the lights a bit brighter at idle. some claim a mpg increase too, not sure about that one tho.

ive looked into it myself and want to do it too, just haven gotten around to it yet.

if you google "the big 3" you'll find some gp's all wired up with some how to's as well.

When it comes to wiring a stereo the better the ground the better the sound go big I added a I gauge from the battery to the chassis and it was the smartest thing I ever did

i have 00gauge for everything, its great and helps me get all my amps. dertermine what you need and go from there, each awg wire has its own limits and wouldnt recomnend going smaller thatn 4 awg

That what i got in ma car knuconceptz KLMX, underated 0gauge that is really 00gauge. love the stuff and good prices

Which reminds me I'm pretty sure I have 00gauge from them laying around that I had in the GP at one point in time. Time to dig that up and do the big 3 again just gotta find some good chopper terminal rings online.

+1 for Knuconceptz. Got my 20 foot 1/0 power, 5 foot 1/0 ground, remote wire, and fuse holder for like $110 after shipping. Got 3 sets of RCA's for like $25 after shipping.

So from the negative battery post, exactly where on the chasis did you mount the ground wire to?

And thats cheap for all that wire, Stinger would charge that same price for half that wire. Now you do use the same type of wire for both ground and power right? I know power is from Alt-pos and ground is from neg-chasis/neg-block, i've just seen people use diff colors on the wires so i didnt know if it was just to tell the diff btw the two or if the wires actually had a diff flow/current rate.

So im assuming I could use the same wire(brand, 0AWG) for both the ground and power connection?

Also, I need a FUSE for the power wire right?

How come you need 20ft of power wire & 5ft of ground. So basically you got 25ft of the same wire?

He probably used some to run a to his amp. Color doesn't matter all a personally preference I used red/black just so it's easy to keep track of +/-. Run the wires where the stock ground would go and use zip ties to keep them out of the way.

Color has nothing to do with the wire. It's just a coating to protect and keep it from shorting. But it's serves another purpose as telling the wires apart. My 20ft link was silver and 5 foot link was black. Doesn't matter which is used for which

Cool, now how bout the fuse?

And send me a link of the wires and/or the kit u used......I went to the website and saw the Flex wires and stuff, I just didnt know which ones to get...

Yea, ima do the power wire too. i put the ZZP one on but I figured a true 0AWG would be much better.....So ima need a fuse, which would be best?
