Grinding noise from rear when driving in reverse.

Hey guys, it just started today. It sound like metal scraping metal or metal scraping concrete when the car is moving in reverse. I have had no time to check anything out yet as I am in class and it happened as I pulled into a parking spot (and reversed to park better).
Any help will definitely be appreciated.

most likely the rear brakes are shot and are either metal to metal, or the squealer tabs on the brake pads are dragging.

It did it again when I left but then it stopped and hasn't done it since.
Think it is important enough to get it checked out still or not so much?

some how im sure you can see your brakes through the wheel, (if not, take the back wheels off to inspect.) so look to see if the rotor is smooth or torn up with deep grooves. you want to look at both sides of the rotor as well, because one pad can wear down faster then the other sometimes, or it can also fall apart if low enough on brake pad material.

you should also be able to see the pads. not a whole lot of them, but where they meet the rotor on the out side facing part.

You're right I can see the brakes through the wheel, no deep grooves or abnormal marks. I couldn't see the back of the rotor but I couldn't feel any grooves. Couldn't see the pads very well either, I'm going to take the tires off tomorrow and check them more thoroughly. If I find something I'll probably be back.
Thanks for the info so far tho scotty. :D

I would check the wheel bearing man, brakes would make a loud high pitch squeal. By you saying it sounds like metal on concrete I would replace the wheel bearing asap. Mine did the same thing. Then it got worse, got louder, I literally thought there was a piece of metal hanging off the bottom of my car dragging on the concrete, its a real horrid sound. Then my rear hub almost separated from my bearing while I was driving

jack the car up, leave the wheel tight, then push and pull the top of the tire, if it moves, you need a hub.

the abs light on by any chance?

Noob - that is exactly what it sounded like while it happened, I thought my muffler was scraping or something.
No lights on at all, I can pretty safely say its coming only from the rear passenger ride also.
