Grind/moan from tranny

Hi boys and Girls:

Had the GP GT for 5 months now, and overall very pleased with it. There is one issue I Have yet to explain, and that is the sound of a soft moan or grind when I first fire it up. Typically, I will be reversing out of the garage or out of a parking space at work.

It kinda reminds me of the sound of the spider gears or pinion bearing in a rear diff that have gotten noisy over time.

Everything else about the tranny is 100%. Not sure if this is really a concern, or just a trait of this beast. I have a lot of time left on the 5/100 powertrain warranty, so cost would not be a concern.

Carl:

Surely I am not the first GP owner to have this issue. My idea behind this post was to hopefully gain some insight into what others might have experienced.

This way, if the service writer comes back with one of those "they all do that", I want to have some ammo.

OTOH, if it IS a normal issue, no reason to waste their time and mine.
IMO, it helps to maintain a good relationship with the dealer by not being known as one who cries wolf alot.
