Great.....Something else broke

So I just got done wrapping up the LIM job last week. New LIM gaskets, water pump/gasket, t stat, VC gaskets etc.

I was hoping I could go more than a week without something else going wrong......but flash forward to today and what do I smell while driving? GOD DAMN COOLANT!! What do I notice on the passenger side carpet. GOD DAMN COOLANT. What's on the windshield? GOD DAMN CONDENSATION!! So I assume I now have to drain the coolant again and replace the heater core. It's funny because I pressure tested the system last week and it held fine.

Anyway while I have the whole dash ripped out is there anything else I should replace? Would prefer to never have to take this apart again if I can help it.

Anything else in the cooling system I should replace or inspect?

This thread may be ongoing since I'm learning as I go and am trying to get this p.o.s back in tip top shape.

take the heater hoses off the fire wall, and loop one back to the engine. this will keep your car dry till you fix it. aka bypass it.

thats all to change in there, its no fun. so be ready for the sore back.
 
Lmao. Old car things happen.. Of course timing usually sucks when it does though.

Will do. I'm 6'4" / 240 lbs. so I'm definitely no looking forward to it. I might yank the seats.

bonerjamz honestly advance is not the greatest place to go for a lot of things. you gotta do research and find quality parts at good prices, that way you only need to replace things once instead of every other week.
 
Yea do your research, I won't and never will say buy everything from advance but it really depends on what it is and the price vs getting let's say a Ac Delco one from advance, Amazon/eBay etc. I also tend to look at it and see if the quality on par to before I bother to install it.

I don't have a grudge. They just sell way too much cheap crap. Some stuff is ok but as a whole, they suck. Cheap crap from them means repairs will be neverending.

Anyways, I'm not gonna keep thread jacking.

Boner, Do what you do lol. Hopefully you can get it fixed soon
