• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Grand Prix Potential...

go for it if u have the resources to do so... i would if i could... NOBODY is ever gonna suspect a GP of having 500 WHP.

If I decide to beef up the gp it would cease to be my daily. I've looked at building up a more traditional platform but a big part of me wants to play unique little snowflake and build something up that's a bit different. 10's are a bit more than I'm looking for as well. But thanks for the input.

If you're wanting to do all this with all the money you're putting into it, fab these on for me

Wow, heh I never expected the number or quality of responses here. Two days in and I'm loving this site. Now to reply:

1. 20,000 $1 fat chicks is tempting, I will have to look into that. BMW's, audis, etc. hold little interest for me, at least at this time although I know both of those cars are beast.

2. gtpsinc, that's exactly why I'm interested in the prix. I have never seen a highly modded grand prix at any of the shows/gathering/ etc. in my area. It might be harder and/or cost a bit more but it might be worth it to have something out of left field.

3. 11's, even high 11's is probably the fastest I'd ever realistically want to take the car. 10's would be cool for ego points but I think it's a bit beyond what I'm looking for.

for around 6000 bucks you can get a z7 turbo kit with pcm tune 60lb injectors dp and t72 turbo and intercooler then get a a trans from triple edge for with upgraded parts for 2500 and a high stall converter and you will have a fast gp for 8500 bucks or you can just do a supercharged setup for 4500 that will run 12.5

you can make it over 12.5 with a modded m90 car big cam tiny pulley intercooled and toss a little n20 in there with all the other mods you would need and a good tune

You do realize that no tranny will hold anymore right?

With the disappearance of the GM Racing 1" chain, turbo is kinda pointless.

I'm a bit north of Rochester so pretty close actually. In reading up on turbo setups, tranny builds, etc. I think I've read more in the past few days than I did in four years of undergrad lol.

It's been awhile but I just thought I'd pop back with an update. After much research I think that a turbo set up is a bit too much for me. After looking at the cost of a turbo kit plus all the necessary support mods to run in the 11's I think it's just too much of a headache for a car that will not see any sort of regular track duty. Call me a weiner but I also have concerns about the long term reliability of the setup.

Instead I think I'll just build up the m90, aim for somewhere in the 12's and enjoy the occasional ricer/rustang stoplight punking. On a a side note what seems to be the average cost of a decent m90 setup, 4-5k?
