yeah it removes it (thas why people pull the radio fuse during a flash) but the main point of CAN bus is distributed computing so i could see certain pid requests making things hinky.
he'd likely have a point if the car had an aftermarket remote start/alarm CAN connection along with some aeroforce gauges.
 


Is it timing out or slowing down trying to query the radio some how?? Like when a PC won't boot cause FDD is enabled in the BIOS but you don't physically have a floppy drive?
