Finally got around to taking some pictures of my new wheels on my 2002 Coupe. I didn't really do any prep work like tire shine or anything before I took the pictures, I just wanted to take some quick snapshots and see what your guy's opinions were. Oh, and BTW, I realize my brake calipers look like crap. I was thinking bout possibly doing them this weekend.

They are 18" ASA AR9's, sitting on General Exclaim UHP 245's.

Yeah I never realized how gross my calipers were until I took my stock wheels/tires off. They're definitely gonna need a lot of prep work before they have a smooth enough surface to paint.

Haha yeah, I'm looking into doing mine this spring. I've seen some results of people who got theirs powdercoated and they look awesome. I don't think there's anywhere around here I could get mine done like that, but if there's a place around you I would recommend that. Otherwise, just sand really good and prime them.

Do the red inserts come out?

Does the perforated area in the red inserts go all the way through? Just wondering because if brake dust gets in those, they'll look nasty really quick.

Not my favorite, but if you like them...that's all that matters.

i also vote to remove the pinstripe

Ya know, I've actually wanted to do that for a while. That may be on my agenda for this weekend as well. I have heard that a hair dryer would be the best way to remove it.... care to comment? The only reason I have delayed taking it off for so long is that I am afraid that the red underneath the pinstripe will be a different shade of red than the rest of the car, cuz it won't be as faded? But yeah, I've never really been a fan of the pinstripe myself either.

how do you like those general acclaims? i was debating a set for my 19s.

The General's are good IMO. They ride a little smoother than my old Bridgestone All-Season tires. I don't do any aggressive driving, so I couldn't tell ya how they hold up in the corners at high speed. But I definitely think they are a good value for the money (like 120 a tire or so?)

The red inserts do come out, yes. The wheels come with 3 sets of inserts: Red, Black, and Chrome. Personally, I like the red inserts. I think it sets it apart from all the other ones out there that are just plain chrome, or just black. Everyone has their own tastes I guess. And yeah the perforations are all the way through the inserts. I guess I'm not too concerned about the break dust though, because I have a bunch of extra red inserts. Hell, I could always just roll without inserts too.

I don't have that much time to do all that I want to do to my car though. I am leaving for Basic Training for the Army at the end of May, and I won't be home until December, so if I wanna get this stuff done, I gotta kick myself in the ass to do it all :)

No paint on them right now (as you can tell, they look like ass). Was thinking either black or red, but I was thinkin that if I did em red, that would be almost TOO much red on my car, ya know?

debadge the car. i hate those red grand prix lettering on the side. just get rid of it. rims are a-okay. my calipers look worse ;D

Looks good. Plenty of potential. Oven cleaner actually works great to remove the pinstripe and then some elbow grease and some wax for the fade difference.
