That's an output shaft. :th_thumbsup-wink:
For what its worth, when I shredded the sun gear in my differential I found TONS of metal in my pan and a lot in my filter. But after tearing the transmission down, I found not one piece of metal inside the transmission.
Now, thats significant, at least to me because I drove the car with the differential issue from July of 2007 to February of 2008 before I finally ground down the sun gear to the point it could not grab.
Now, does that mean it will be the case with yours? Obviously I cannot say. But I was impressed with the fact the filter trapped all that material and not just on the surface of the filter but also IN BETWEEN it also.
Trannyman is expert here on such things and Im just making observations, but I drove that thing for 8 months before it gave out on me which was ample time to circulate those metal bits if they were going to go through. Either I was extremely blessed or that filter did way more than I would have expected it to do.
broke an aftermarket output shat and it was in multiple pieces and caused a lot of internal damage
