Figured I'd do something different...and yes I've beaten Hondas and some Mustangs, but I got beat a while back.

My buddy has a 98 Camaro, with 2.73 gears and a lid/catback. The car has ran a best of 13.4. We were on I70 about 3 miles from our exit and I decided to strech the GTP's legs. I pulled beside him, honked once to let him know I was interested, and we slowed to about 65. When we were even and traffic was catching up, I three honked. I held even for about five seconds then he slowly started pulling. At 100 he was a solid car ahead and we let off. Even at 100 I could only see the left side of his bumper.

I feel better about my car knowing it held it's own with a mid 13 second car. Later he told me his brother's full bolt on LT1 car did the exact same thing.
 


v8s have top end, we do not. past 100 lt1s and ls1s walk away from us. your best bet would have been from a dig. however, nice loss.

ive gotten my ass kicked a few times in my car too, it happens. i actually got beat by a cobalt ss when i was only on my 3.4 (untuned). i got beat by a stock (tuned) gtp when i was on my 3.4 (untuned). got beat by a vette too.
 
I remember when in my GTP I pulled up next to this crappy looking thirdgen with rust holes and what I thought was a bad exhaust (it was a big cam and I knew nothing about cars) we took off from the light and he left me like I was riding a bicycle. 6 months later I bought my camaro and started the engine swap.

then we went from a 60-95, and i had a car on him :D
 


Good Try... the LS1s are fast, but ive surprised my friends with my gtp... I run with a group of F-bodies and one saleen mustang thats boosted too

the LT1s tho are crap when dogged hard, they break easy and loose power... we had a kid in town that had one of the nicest anniversary editions with an LT1 and in 4 months of dogging it, it was crap, is even worse crap, but i owned him in my ssei bonneville last summer and made him mad... what he gets for not taking car of his car. :th_tongue2:
not to mention it takes alot of bolt-ons for an LT1 to stay with an ls1... found that out after a couples of friends races
