I was down in Schaumburg, IL for the past few weeks and was driving back Wednesday for Thanksgiving to be with my family and got into and accident in rush hour traffic in Milwakee. To keep it short...... some assclown pulled out in front of me merging and I hit him doing 30-35 mph. It happened at 530pm in the rain. I got back to Appleton, WI at 1230am that night.

I still owe $1800 on the car.....think they will total it out??? if so get ready for a parting out sale. There were no fluids from the radiator and the car still drove but no headlights or blinkers.

that sucks man, doubt they will total it for that though, looks basically all cosmetic so there shouldn't be any structure to fix. Probably about 1800 in a shop to fix, blue book is still higher so i would say they'll fix it
 
i would, I've seen them fix cars that cost over book value, cause there losing either way. I think (if i remember right) they will pay 18%? over book value, something like that but its a set figure. The thing to hope for is a piss poor estimator who says its 500 less then what it will be, then check on it in the shop while the works being done and make sure they get things done right, even if insurance misses it from the start. Once the works half done there not gonna stop because they missed the A/C condensor or the core support
 


looks like the same damage i did to my car, i didnt bend the radiator support but the headlight brackets on the chassis did bend and the shop had to get new ones welded on. tell them you want GM parts. they gave me a cheap china bumper and hood
 


Each day that goes buy I have been getting more sore. Anyone know how much the air bags cost for our GP's???
 


^ x2 if the airbags would have popped you prolly would have been good but you can always buy it back from them if they total it and then fix it back up
 
So what if they total the car out you can buy the car back for salvage price and fix it with used parts or the way you want it and still not have a salvage title. If the title doesn't turned over to the insurance company there is no way for them to add the damage disclosure.
 
Well I had the airbags pop up on my car when I got into an accident, but they didn't total it. idk..
