Got in a little fender bender, need some advise

Literally a very little fender bender, girl in front of me started going in reverse while at a stop and just bumped into my the front of my 01. The damage is very minimal but its still there. My 01 is nearly pristine with the exception of a few minor minor scratches but this thing is clean, completely stock, detailed inside, under the hood and under the car twice a year with annual waxes. I mean I keep this thing clean!

So my question is this how much should it cost to get the bumper sprayed? I know enough now how to pull it off so I can just drop it off and get it sprayed. Im gonna get quotes tomorrow. The girl has the most basic insurance and the cop wouldnt do a report since he said the damage was less the 1500.00 which I agree with but im pretty pissed he wouldnt even write up something for my insurance. He probably just felt bad for the girl cause she was young in a POS.

So that being said I dont think its worth the hassle of going through insurance, the girl said she would like to keep it out of insurance but I would still like to get it fixed. Any thoughts guys?

She needs to give you cash...like now.

Take the car in; don't remove the cover. It should be about $300 or $400 to repaint.

keep in mind it will cost more considering the lower valance area is a different color, depends on the shop you take it to on a price

take the bumper off and prep it yourself if you know how, and take the shop just the bumper and you will probably get a better deal. i do body work but im not an estimator, id say it wouldn't be more then $300 thats alot if there just spraying and dont have to prep. besides cleaning and tacking it

The girl had insurance. Doesn't matter how "basic" her insurance was, her insurance pays for it. And if the cop wouldn't do a report....he didn't do his job!

I couldnt agree more, I was in a military family so I didnt want to get into an argument with local law enforcement but I am thinking about filing a complait cause that was unacceptable in my book.

So the consensus is 300-400 for paint either on or off, I just wast sure if it would be cheaper off. I honestly dont want to do my own prep, the rest of the car has such great paint I want it all too look as factory as possible and this would be my first go at prep work. If it was my 97 id go for it cause Lil Balcky as I call her is my play around GP.

I agree the girls insurance should cover it but since I have no report to back it it might get a little sticky but I know claims can still be pushed through without them. Im gonna get a qoute first thing in the AM and go from there! Thanks for the input guys.

So shop quoted $765 for everything, kinda steep. Im calling the girl now to see what her thoughts are my deductible is $500 so if she will pony up the dough to make it worth it

That would be dumb to turn it into your insurance, and pay $500 dollar deductable. You dont have to pay anything it will all come from her insurance.

Yeah turns out I have awesome insurance, I claimed it and I must have upgraded my policy last renewal cause my deductible is only a hundred bones, worth it for a fresh bumper cover.
