• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Good ol' GM.

Koniig

Brightening up your day.
Okay, so long story short, I had a hole in my muffler and it was shooting exhaust gas upwards in turn melting a vent line that regulates the gas cappy area thingy. And now I have to dish out $800 for a replacement cat-back exhaust and this vent line. But I have a 100k bumper to bumper warranty? Where the **** is that **** when I need it? Oh thanks GM, glad I could pay you out the ass for a replaced gas cap and a few cleared codes. **** you. But now when I need it, its nowhere to be found.

As a matter of fact, the repairs, including labor, were going to originally cost $1700, but through a few minor warranty claims and some internal labor, my stepmother and I managed to get the price down to $800.

Keep in mind, I'm working full time in the summer and that money was originally going to be the exact amount I needed to fix the Celica. Rather now I have to pay double that, so to speak, to get both of my cars going and have had to roll around in my father's 2005 ****burban with 200k on the clock that smells like mother****ing dogs. WTF IS THIS ****??

Oh and did I mention its a 2007 Grand Prix and the holes were caused by rust? RUST ATE THROUGH THIS PIECE OF **** EXHAUST ON A FOUR YEAR OLD CAR??

Blow me GM. Blow....me.

P.S. I am not looking for opinions, nor am I looking for pity or what have you. I just needed somewhere to vent.

/rant.

Vent on the fact you should take it to an exhaust shop for the exhaust issue...next...call morad to get the sh1t that was melted. Third...install and save hundreds more.

Your welcome scooter :D

Exhaust doesn't last forever. Exhaust shops exist for reasons. ;) I'd say you were at fault for letting it get that bad not GM.

Oh and a good way to prevent rust is to wash your car as often as you can. Get that road salt and other winter sh!t off of there as fast as you can. This includes spraying under your car occasionally.

Bingo, find someone thats does legit exhaust crap. Not some schmuck on a corner that looks like Billy Bob Thorton in Slingblade. Then Morad it up, or check autopart stores. Like Nick said, get mo money!

Patch Exhaust - less than $100
EVAP? Line repair - Less than $30

You could probably patch the evap line by going to the parts store, get the dorman quick gas line repair, then cut the line, follow the instructions to heat/shrink the line onto the existing line both ends.

So...if you pay me $800...can I take the remainder of the money after I fix it for like fifty bones...?

Ughhhhhhhh. Fml. I didn't reaally have a choice guys. The next day I walked in and was informed that they had already ordered the exhaust. Because believe, me, I would have just went magnaflow cat-back for that price...

Just cause they order it doesn't mean you have to do it. It's their fault for not consulting with you first. Sure they'll be pissed, but its their **** up.

warranties and car insurance-why do we pay for something that seems to turn its back on us when we need them? We are in the wrong profession ;)

Hmmm, I have had my GTP for 10 years now and it's freakin flawless. Been driving it in the snowy winters in the midwest all that time too.

hope you get it fixed, a messed up car is a bummer
