Good battery reccomendation?

Recently my car has been really slow to turn over as it has been getting colder outside, went to start it this morning in 32F weather and no dice. Anyway, I'm looking for a good battery I have looked into the Optima Red Tops even with the high price tag my dad was explaining its a good idea to get a reliable good battery. I found this one at autozone ->Optima Battery/Battery (34-78) | 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 Cylinders K 3.8L SFI OHV | AutoZone.com. I guess any opinions, experiences, or recommendations would be grateful.
 


Get one with 690+ cold cranking amps. Look for a little round sticker on the side, it will show the build date. Some have a letter first: A for January, B for Feburary -others have a number 1 for January. The next number after the slash is the year. Look close as some retailers may have had batteries on the shelf all summer that are being sold now as it gets cold. Trickle charge it overnight at least before you put it in.

Brand is not as important as warranty and CCA. Buy it where you think a possible return would be the easiest.

Would trickle charge mean throwing it on a battery charger with low amps? I have some cheap battery charger that I got from autozone thats got like 10,6,2 amp settings or something along with standard,AGM,and some other battery type.

This! I dont know if i've just gotten lucky with getting a good one or what. I mean I know they're expensive but I bought this car in 2008 and it already had it in there for 2 years. So its around 6 years old. I store it every winter by simply unplugging it (no trickle charge). For the first year I accidently left it plugged in while it sat for about 5 months (car started right up). Its probably sat unplugged for 3 years of overall time. I've had it drain dead on me for stupid reasons at least 4-5 times. It always starts right up and is still giving me about 14.8V. Thing is bad ass.
 
I got one of the Advance gold ones or whatever. Used online codes and got $20 off or so. It's got almost 800 cca. Does just fine.
 
Also don't foget you can throw in a 75 series battery, most of the time the cca's are the same but the battery is 8-10 lbs lighter in smaller packaging. It works great for cranking it over, probably not as much so if you are running a big sound system though.

All I got is 2 12's on 500w rms and my headlights dim when I crank it. I plan on doing the big 3 soon with 4ga wire.
 


Everyone has been a big help, I'm looking into an Optima Red top if the money is available or a Duralast Gold because of location for warranty reasons.
 
Well guys, I got a Duralast Gold Top something 800CCA (can't remember rest of it) Has a 3 year replacement warranty and an 8 year warranty for credit if it goes bad after the 3 year. When they tested the 6 year old wal mart everstart battery it was bad and was bulging and he said frozen and only put out like 400CCA and was rated at 580CCA. Installed the new battery in my car and holy crap, It fired right up the starter sounded nice a healthy. Took her for a drive to let the computer re-learn and everything is good.
 
;) Yep. That's the same one I got. I made it all through last winter and this summer and it's been a champ. Hell it better be or I will surely take it for a return
 
For me, I've always just bought the highest CCA battery in my group size from the local farm supply store. I just replaced mine since it was 9 years old and dieing, with a Road Runner 850 CCA for $85. My top negative top post cable would not reach, so I had to buy a $2 screw in side post adapter. Works good for me. My last car I was able to fit in an 1100 CCA battery, but I did that because it was really struggling in the cold.
