Going to the track on Thursday, Guesses?

I'm going to the track on Thursday with my brother in law and some friends, depending on the weather. It's only an 1/8 mile, but it's a start.

So.... Guesses as to what i'll run??? 04 Comp G, E85,S1x,3.3,Headers, 21* timing, etc.

Decent tires, 6 month old, good tread. Not my first time at a track, So i know how to launch ok, but it's my first time with this GP.

Guess away. I'm guessing 8.5 or somewhere around there. ??

Just got my 60# injectors in last weekend. Those, a 255 pump, and a 3.0 go on this weekend. I'm trying to see where I'm at now, then later this month I'll go to the 1/4 and see the difference. Hoping for 12's in the 1/4 by the end of the month.

And a still working tranny....

Once the 60s are in you should be able to get down to a 2.8 pulley on E85, that would be the exact same mods as my car. In for results with my car on the set of pregens and drag radials on them im pretty confident it would crack 12s. So I'd like to see how your does.

Edit I have a good trans and the TEP VB makes a huge difference, along with the 7/8s chain setup. Ive destroyed 2 flexplates in 6 months so I honestly don't see your trans lasting very long.......... Good Luck!

Jeremy has been on e85 2.55 pulley for a year on a stock trans and its still alive, I ran 14psi on my stock trans (12.8@117) and it survived... Until I decided to go to 16psi and 3-1 skip shift it....

Yeah I don't jump on it like that for that reason. I'm doing filter/fluid and a transgo kit this weekend. I'm hoping that, and the fact that I refuse to go wot in first, will save it for a bit.

And i guess an lq4 maf is on my list now too.

Well i guess when it's your time, it's your time.
I've already told my wife it's gonna blow soon. It hasn't given me any trouble, not one bit, but I'm preparing her for the inevitable.
Hopefully it'll last a few months or more than she'll be surprised it lasted that long and be happy (ish).
Then it TEP time....

limping along a car that is modded because people are scared of a trans is pointless. im not hiding the fact i drive mine hard but trust me youll be much more satisfied with a solid trans and a tep vb makes a giant difference.

honestly if i were you and could afford it id get a trans done and in before the middle of the summer and having to do it. plus if you can get one in before this one blows you can keep this one as a spare. truth be told i wish i had another twin of my trans just sitting in my garage!

I've considered buying another one and building it up myself. I'm a pretty decent mechanic, so when the time comes I'm gonna do at least the swap myself. But honestly, I just don't want to spend 3k on something that still works well now. I get your point, and it's a good idea, but my Trans still shifts like new.

But ask me again tomorrow after a few hard passes. For all I know I could break the input shaft on my first pass and be ordering a Trans friday.

Oh and I drive it hard as hell. I just try not to slam it to the floor going 25 mph so I get all that torque in first. Rolling into still gets the heart rate up pretty quick.

SO before i post videos I feel an explanation is due. Before anyone suggests it NO, my car doesn't run like ****, and NO it's not slow, and NO i see no knock at all.

This was by far the worst track i have ever been to and overall, my worst track experience. First, the track opened at 6 but cars didn't start running until 9. Why you ask? Cause their "new" accutrack bs broke. Just straight up took a sh1t. After an hour of waiting, me and my brother in law left and got food, when we came back, they just started running. So i get in line.

And proceed to wait for another hour. Why now you ask? Cause after the first 2 cars went (with no et time as they couldn't fix that) a sh1tty honda turbo blew an oil line of some sort and soaked the track. So the right lane was done for like another hour. This pissed everyone off. The track staff tried to clean it off and they couldn't get it cleaned up very well. I did my second pass in the right lane and had to back up from the line after i lined up and do a burnout cause i got in an oil puddle and the dude noticed it (luckily). Didn't really help me as i got no traction at all anyways.

So, the track itself, besides being shut down and then oily, was horrible. No one got traction. I wish my brother in law had taken videos of more than just my run as there were MANY cars that run in the 8's and 7's that were doing 9's and 10's tonight. Just not a good track.

So did i at least have fun? No. Rednecks galore. I'm from SC so i'm used to a certain number of rednecks, but when the turbo trucks out number the number of cars running the track, you're in a bad spot. Don't believe me? Check out a few of the bystanders in the videos going up next.

Oh and the track literally allowed people to walk around wherever they want. Like on the track. i had to wait for people to move both times i pulled into the lane.

So. Rant over. I ran a sh1t time. Got no traction, and i had to wait so long the first time, i forgot to turn my traction control back off and it cut on and pulled power halfway down the track my first run. In the end, it's on me, as the car has MUCH better times in it. I raced a buddy's 95 lt1 vette with a newly rebuilt engine on the ride home and had a car on it it to 110 from a 40 roll.

The car's fast, I was just a crap driver tonight and the track blew. Taking it back to the same sad ass track saturday after tossing on 60's and a 3.0.

I expect to run 11's in the 1/8th with less traction....
