• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

going cammed?

Wild is where its at.

This

no i read through that already.. im to stupid to make heads or tails from these numbers. i know what the sh!t is i just dont understand what the numbers translate too

should have included that in my original post

There are videos out there to help you, in school we watched degreeing and reading a cam.

I am talking about the machining and checking it for clearances, where stock replacement is pretty much plug and play.

Last time I was looking at this i thought you could buy the cover already machined for like just a bit extra cash? Not only that don't be a baby I don't see why people are scared of dbl rollers.

becaused they're made and designed for austrailian 3800's which have less chamfer on the crank gear.

If you dont correct that, then buh bye timing chain.

and yes, you can buy machined oil pump covers.

I never knew they were made for the aussie 3.8 :/ That seems kind of dumb to me, but I know locals who are still running them not for very long yet (about 2k or so) and haven't run into a problem yet maybe I will inform them.

The old school ones were for our engines, but the only ones that are availible new are not designed for our engines.

As long as the gear is machined down to be the same height as the stocker sitting next to it...then it'll be fine and you won't have that horrible failure that people were making the Double Roller out to be. Also keep in mind...you have to X the balance shaft to run a Double Roller too since the Aussie motors don't have those AND they have more oil ports for the cam on the lifter valley...which I was going to have done...but figured...meh, screw it.

i most likely want the most simple cam i dont wanna be changing heads, and i drive this car alot so i really cant go to heavy of a cam anyway

If you want to be overkill why did you get the ls6 springs instead of 105's

#90 LS6 springs/retainers are even rougher on the valvetrain than 105's...sooo...not really seeing your point. They are just as good as 105's and get the job done...I shifted over 6300 with the XP and 90's. No float or anything there. BUT, 44K or whatever on a new chain/dampner...it chewed up the dampner pretty good.
