GMPP Sway bar frame bushings???

PLEASE HELP!

I have someone trying to install the GMPP front swaybar on my GTP... first hurdle is the 3" DP... remembered that i read that the bar has to be flipped-- second, and more importantly -- the installer says that the midpoint bushings are an inch taller than the hold down bracket pieces... is this normal??? what do i do? (rubber is taller than the metal strap bracket pieces....

thanks

Make it fit, its rubber. You are using the gmpp bushings, correct?

yes, the ones that came with the bar

is it really a case of make it fit, or are there different clamp/braket pieces? the taller part seems to be on the bottom, making more clearance between the cradle and the bar...

They will clamp down, use a little lubrication and they will go around it, smash down just fine. Its a tight fit, but its good that way.

he's gonna give it a go-- especially since now he says it's like a half inch gap.. that'll squish

the only other explaination i can think of is perhaps a production change to a taller bracket/bushing somewhere after the 97 MY? ... i have a late 97 (no whip antenna)

yeah that's what i figured- it's been awhile since i changed one of these, and even then i reused the bushings. :o I looked the car up on rockauto and did find Moog bushing p/n's for the 34MM bar, (poly i think, but not sure) so if these just won't go, I'll have them nab some of those and see how they compare, i bet they are the same though
