gmc 2500hd faster then my gtp

Ok I had to hear this from other people even though i know my car is faster.
Well my friend just bought a 2001 gmc 2500hg with a 8100 vortec. He used to have a old porche 944 and a mazda mx6 with a fart can on it, well anyways he thinks all his **** is much faster then mine. Well anyways he just put on a k&n intake and a chip, and hes gonna have his exhust put on this week. He's also gonna install his zex nitrous kit in the dam thing. I told him this dam truck isn't made for speed its made for hauling stuff. Hes like this truck is faster then your car blah blah blah. He's one of my bestfriends soo i try not to be a dick about it and tell him what i really think. Soo he's coming up in april soo were defently gonna have a show down to end this ordeal, soo im hoping i will shut him up. My gtp has 150k on it, it has a wizaired cai, and a zzp 1.0 pcm. Who you think would go faster 0-60 and 0-100 and top end??
 


ohhhh boy. its gonna be close. you dont really have that many mods on that thing and those big trucks can make some nasty power pretty easily.
 
the V8 tundra runs 13's stock(i know we are talking about a gm, but trucks are not to be underestimated), and those deisels can get into the 12's with a good tune, exhaust and nitrus..... 4wd and 600+ ft/lb torqu will move a heavy ass truck pretty fast :th_thumb-up:
 
yea i know all about the tundra my dad has an '07 it's pretty quick. The truck my friend has is a 8.1 vortec v8 and he has a chip in it and a k&n intake and hes gonna have his zex kit put in it.
 


Yea it's gonna happend next month. Hes my bestfriend soo its really not big deal, but i tell you what hes not gonna touch me this summer, unless he got a procharger kit or sts turbo put on tht thing. He said he wants to lower the gears on it, like 3.73 but im not sure. He said he raced a chey silverado ss the other day and lost to him 0-60. So idk just hope my old girl will smoke his truck and shut him up, or im gonna have to listen to his mouth for a while.
 
If he can't beat a SS then there is nothing to worry about.

I also drive that 03 Harley Edition F-150 in that picture. I can put bus length on a SS pickup in a matter of seconds, and yet I'm only slightly faster than a GTP with a 3.4 pulley and 3" exhaust.
 
Well that makes me feel good....I put a thumpin' on a Harley truck last year. But I got spanked by a F-350 with a powerstroke in it.
 
I know a guy around here from a customer of mine that has a Dodge diesel, I think a 3500. Very nice truck indeed. However, his pastime is drag racing and he did not give it up with the truck. He has a Banks system installed, exhuast, PCM and a few other things I cannot recall at the moment and he's running in the 13's if I remember correctly.
 


I use to mess with cars when I had my truck. Put it in 4wheel high and mash the pedal. Great traction and I'd beat a few nice cars. Some trucks make some serious torque.
 
Wish I could say that about my 2500HD. It has so little power, it can barely get out of its own way! LOL. Either that or i'm just used to my car. My car and my GFs car would kill this thing any day of the week in any gear. Hell, i'd be willing to say my 93 GP SE 3.1 would whoop it too, seriously... Course I know modded can change up things a bit. A good tune can net you 50-60hp on these things.
 
Know what puts out some sick HP is the diesel trucks with a bully dog propane injection kits. Speed TV had a stock Chevy 2500 and bolted on the Bully Dog kits available and it dynoed 600HP.
 
I think you will win just because my GT with just a couple of bolt on's can out run a 2001 2500 8.1 with whipple on it. it only runs high high 14's
