GM S/C Gasket Question

I called The Local Stealership today and ordered 2 GM S/C gaskets with employee pricing. Uncle brought them to me and well they are not the correct gasket... I think. This is for the GEN3 blower/lim but from researching I can only find one part number for the S/C gasket on the 3.8. Is the right Do I have to cut the gasket to fit? I did tell the person over the phone that it was a 2004 GTP I needed them for.

You use RTV to seal an intercooler up top. Seal it to the LIM with the gasket and RTV.

Who knows, just cut the crap out of it.

Are you using a L67 or L32 LIM?

GenIII or GenV blower?

GenIII or GenV IC core?

Oh the fun.

I have a Garlock on there now that ZZP Custom Cuts so the intake holes are matched to the LIM, That is why I thought the hole should have been bigger. Looking at Intense's website they have pictures of the L67/L32 GM gaskets and yeah theothernick is correct.

That is the early version Gen V gasket where the LIM had the recessed areas for the coolant port O-rings. The newer design is metal with inlaid rubber and the LIM had a flat surface around the coolant ports. Therefore it didn't get the big bulky o-rings.

Being IC'd, I wouldn't use any premade gaskets. 2 rolls of gasket material and some permatex 26B is the way to go.

I will do this. Seems like it should work and would be more flexible than GM gaskets

Search on me and either 26 or Matt and that info. I think he put it up or posted about how I do the process etc. It's here probably 10 times

Best of luck..that's not just a paper gasket you have there. You have a carbony type gasket with metal inside it.

Ehh I dont like when you say good luck lol. I tried to find somethign about the way you do the RTV gaskets but only found threads where you told people about it..

You can cut those gaskets just fine. Scribe them with a razor knife and make about 3 passes and you're through. I've run Gen V gaskets on the top and bottom of my intercooler and just a dab of RTV at the corner where you have to cut through the viton and it runs fine every time
