Glove box light stays on

Hi guys,

Just a quick question - is the glove box light supposed to stay on once you lock the car? I had left my glove box open when i locked the car and noticed it stayed on for a few minutes after I locked the car. I shut the glove box and thought nothing of it but this morning my car wouldn't start up.

I just noticed this last night and even though my intuition says it isn't supposed to stay lit, I figured I should check. I just finished installing my own head unit and car PC so if the glove box light is fine I'll have to look into the wiring for those next.

It shouldnt stay on. Usually lights will shut off after ~10mins of the car being off as a safety thing so it wont kill the battery. It should shut off when the box is closed. If not it may be a bad sensor in the glove box latch (I believe they have one).
 
My old GP the glove box kinda warped over time and needed a few of those little circle stickers to give another 1/16"-1/8" in order for the glove box to close the switch all the way. Give it a try.
